Liyi IEC60112 Comparative Leakage Current Tracking Index Tester
It is used for the determination of comparative tracking indices of solid electrical insulating materials on pieces taken from parts of electrical and electronic equipment and on plaques of material using alternating voltages. In normal use, components made of insulating material may become moist and dirty. If the impurities are electrically conducting, current will flow between parts of different voltage potentials creating a track. As a result, small flashovers may occur, which cause thermal stresses to the surface of the insulating material. The visual result of thermal decomposition of the insulating material caused by the tracking current is called the track. The interconnecting formation of carbonized material forms a tracking path, by which a lasting current conducting connection results. Thereafter the component cannot fulfill its intended electrical function in the majority of cases and parts may catch fire. The resistance of an insulating material to track formation is called the tracking resistance.
Principle:
The leakage tracking tester meets the IEC60112 test standard. A rectangular platinum electrode was used, and the force of the two poles on the sample was 1.0 N; 0.05 N, respectively. The applied voltage is adjustable between 100 and 600V (48-60Hz), and the short-circuit current is 1.0; 0.1A, the voltage drop should not exceed 10%. When the short-circuit leakage current is equal to or greater than 0.5A in the test circuit, the time is maintained. 2 seconds, the relay is activated, the current is cut off, indicating that the test piece fails. The time constant of the drip device is adjustable, and the amount of drip is controlled to be 44 to 50 drops/cm3 and the time interval between drops is 30 seconds.
