Advantages of internal piloted valves (4V230-08)

Pneumatic valves are usually operated by air captured during prior or ongoing operations. Because they are used to trigger larger valves and do not cost more, they are a cheaper and cheaper way to power solenoid valves. Compressed air can produce a tremendous amount of force, which can be applied to another valve and recycled when the job is done. Its actual design or footprint is very small, so it does not add much weight to the mechanism.

The current through the ac solenoid valve begins with the first strong current shock and then drops to a lower normal level. If the solenoid is left open for too long and receives too much of the first maximum current, it can permanently damage the device. Dc solenoid valves, by contrast, do not change current and are not at risk of current damage.The dc circuit can be used without problems with the ac solenoid, but the dc solenoid cannot be used on other circuits without becoming noisy and overheating.
