Polyamines are nitrogen containing cationic condensation polymers that are manufactured by many different processes. Polyamines are organic polymers used in water clarification, oil water separation, color removal, waste treatment, and latex coagulation in rubber plants. Also used in the coating and paper industry as well as numerous applications including meat process waste treatment like chicken plant waste. Polyamines that are used for water treatment are manufactured by dimetylamine and epichlorohydryn polycondensation process. Different Epi-DMA ratioand different reaction temperatures form different polyamine products. Cationic organic polymers effect on the electrical double layer and destabilize the particle, making a particle-polymer-partical bridge by charge neutralization. Sludge formation is much less than inorganic coagulants. |
