Screw-type air-cooled chilled (heat pump) units
Overview
Inheriting the supreme air cooling design from EK Italy and
equipped with the leading-edge European design for large-scale
air-cooled units, EKAS screw-type air-cooled chilled (heat pump)
units feature patented double screw compressors and highefficiency
dry evaporators. With optimized system configuration,
units of this series are efficient, energy saving, reliable, easy
to maintain and cost-effective (low operation cost). They are ideal
choices for central air conditioning systems of hotels, guest
houses, office buildings, schools, hospitals and factories, etc.
Features

2.Efficient Heat Exchanger with Outstanding Performance.
The heat exchanger of EKAS screw-type air-cooled chilled (heat
pump) units is EU and ASME certified and features patented
refrigerant allocation design. With efficient internalthreaded
copper tubes as the heat exchanging medium, the heat exchanger
greatly enhances heat transfer between the water and refrigerant,
thus lowering power consumption and operation cost.
■ To facilitate on-site installation, standard pipe connection for
heat exchangers is groove yoke connection (with stub tube). Each
evaporator and condenser are equipped with separate
air and water discharge devices.
■ The oil circuit features a simple design (no oil pump) that
facilitates oil return to eliminate the risk of freeze-crack on
heat exchanging pipes.
■ The refrigerant is only 1/3 of that in common heat exchangers,
which eliminates the risk of leakage and makes the unit more
environment-friendly and reliable.
3.Reliable and Precise Control by Electronic Expansion Valve
Full series of units feature electronic expansion valves for optimum superheating control, bringing about high unit performance. With precise PID throttle control by the electronic expansion valve, the refrigerant can be well controlled and outlet air from the compressor can be monitored for compressor protection.
4.W-shaped Air-side Heat Exchanger for Better Performance.
The W-shaped air-side heat exchanger features a leading-edge design - coated with wavy aluminum cooling fins and embedded with well-arranged seamless copper tubes with high quality and full mechanical expansion. Even air flow after CAE analysis eliminates interference between the air-side heat exchanger and the fan, bringing about highly efficient heat exchange. Heat exchanger coils are connected to the supercooling circuit (for cooling only units) to avoid too much evaporation of liquid refrigerant, bringing about higher cooling capacity.
5.Wide Operation Range and Long Service Life
With shells made from galvanized steel plates and coated with
corrosion-proof paint by electrostatic spray, the units are
corrosion-proof and adaptable to various harshenvironments.
■ Adaptable to wide outdoor temperature range: -15°C ~ 43°C.
■ Accurate and efficient auto defrosting and unconditional manual
defrosting (if necessary) effectively extend the service life of
units.
■ By exchange heat directly with the atmosphere, the units are
environment friendly and contamination free.
6.Patented Airscrew Fan - High Air Flow with Low Noise
Featuring EK low-noise design, the unit fan can effectively prevent
air vortex, bringing about higher air flow with little noise.
■ The optimum curvy design of impeller edges helps eliminating air
vortex, bringing about higher rev and
efficiency while reducing noise.
■ With overheat protection and no racing, the motor features a
longer service life.
■ The motor features direct transmission to effectively reduce
transmission loss and vibration.
■ Fan motors with high static pressure are also available for
various applications requiring static pressure
7.Easy Installation, Simple Maintenance
Power and water are enough to get the unit running. No special
equipment room, cooling tower or other auxiliaries are needed.
■ Power supply equipment is built into the unit, eliminating the
need for complex wiring and special power distribution cabinet.
■ The smart control system automatically monitors and controls unit
operation, and displays causes of errors to facilitate maintenance.
8.Compact Structure, Easy Installation
■ The unit features a compact structure, integrated startup and
control system, extended handle for the general switch, and
auto-lock protection after the general switch is closed for safer
cabinet door access.
■ The whole unit is compact and tidy, featuring a graceful exterior
and small volume. This facilitates transportation and reduces the
area of equipment room. A little pipelining and wiring are all that
needed during installation. Therefore, both installation cost and
period are significantly reduced.
