Introduction to QB Certification

In short, if your product has Bluetooth capabilities and has Bluetooth logo on the appearance of the product, you must pass a certification called BQB. Bluetooth Certification Body (BQB) is a group authorized by BQRB to provide services to members who need to be certified for Bluetooth products. Members receive authentication services directly through BQB. BQB is responsible for checking non-conforming statements and documents, evaluating product test reports, and listing products in the official database of Bluetooth authorized products. BQB must be a member of Bluetooth SIG or an employee of Bluetooth SIG. BQB is an independent individual and does not need to be affiliated to the testing organization or the manufacturer.

BQB Authentication Classification

BQB certification is divided into BQB column name and BQB test certification.

BQB listing, also known as EPL listing, refers to the listing form of Bluetooth BQB certification, such as Bluetooth speaker finished products. If Bluetooth module has passed BQB certification, then Bluetooth speaker can not re-apply for BQB certification, as long as the module supplier's authorization is obtained, the product can be uploaded to BQB website in the form of listing.

Provide information: EPL listing needs to provide company information (name, address, contact, contact information, enterprise mailbox), product model, user name and password after registration.

Application Principles for EPL Listing Series

Require the same product (not Bluetooth speaker and Bluetooth keyboard together), Bluetooth module can be the same. On this basis, different functions also count as a series.

Since February 1, 2014, SIG has to charge for listing EPL. There are two situations:

One is free: the original module of A company application, now the finished product is also A company application, that is free of charge.

There are two kinds of charges, which are divided into three kinds.

1. A non-annual member who buys the right to use QDID that requires EPL has his own DID, which is $8,000 (you can apply in a series of applications).

2: Annual membership. Ibid., the fee is $4000 per member.

3: From February 1, the discount for less than one and a half years (i.e. 18 months) is: never applied for BQB or EPL before, the annual turnover is less than $1 million (can be declared), the fee is $2500 each (can be applied by series model)

Note: To apply for BQB or EPL listing, the company information should be consistent with the inspection information. In the past, only foreign customs were checking. Now SIG has reached an agreement with Chinese Customs. Shipment from Chinese Customs should also check whether BQB has been applied for.

BQB Detection and Authentication

Bluetooth Authentication and Testing Facility (BQTF) is formally approved by BQRB, which can complete the "Class A" Bluetooth Authentication Conformance Testing Identification in Test Case Reference List (TCRL). The authoritative description of the BQTF role is in Section 4.3.3 of the Bluetooth Authentication Procedure Reference Document (PRD). Members can use BQTF directly for testing services. Usually, BQTF can also provide additional Bluetooth testing services.

Scope of competence

1. Radio frequency conformance testing, including RF, baseband and physical test specifications.

2. Protocol and profile conformance testing, including baseband, link management, L2CAP and profile conformance testing specifications.

Qualification Authorization

The task of the Bluetooth Technology Evaluator (BTA) is to evaluate the technical capability of the Bluetooth Authentication and Evaluation Board (BQRB) as a testing institution for Bluetooth conformance testing and later authorized by Bluetooth SIG as Bluetooth Authentication and Testing Facility (BQF).
