IC693MDL654 is a 5/12 volt DC (TTL) Positive/Negative Logic Input module for the Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller. It delivers 32 discrete TTL voltage threshold input points which are grouped into four distinct groups, with each group having a total number of eight points labelled (A1 - A8, B1 - B8, C1 - C8, and D1 - D8). The inputs work in line to about 15V having positive or negative logic inputs. The +5V supply is produced on the module and later separated from the PLC backplane. One can decide to power the inputs from the internal supply rather than powering them with an external user issued supply. This can be made possible by Setting up jumpers on the right pins on the I/O connector. If this internal supply is used to power the inputs, more loading will be put on the PLC's +5V power supply in case an internal supply is utilized to power the inputs. Opto-couplers found on the module offers and supports backplane isolation of 1500 volts between field side and logic side and 250 volts between the four classes. In addition, no faults diagnostics are noted on the power supply. IC693MDL654 consumes an internal power of 195 mA from +5V bus on backplane.
The module consists of LED indicators listed as; A1 - A8, B1 - B8, C1 - C8, D1 - D8 located at the top of the module. The indicator provides ON/OFF status of every input point. The input current is 3.0 mA (typical ON current at 5 VDC) and 8.5 mA (typical ON current at 12 VDC). IC693MDL654 is of 32-point input design which uses 32 bits of discrete %I input data. It can be placed on an I/O port on a 5 or 10-slot baseplate in a Series 90-30 PLC system. Current from an input point leads to logic 1 within the input status table.
