IC697MDL350 is a 120 VAC 0.5 Amp, 32-Point Discrete Output Module
in the GE Fanuc Series 90-70. Standard features include four
isolated groups of 8 points equaling 32 points, 0.5 amp point
capacity, and a high inrush capacity of 20x the rated current. The
IC697MDL350 output module allows each group of 8 points to be used
on a different phase of the AC supply. Each group of outputs is
fused with a 5 amp fuse and demonstrates a high degree of inrush
current, making the outputs appropriate for a range of inductive
and incandescent loads.
LEDs indicate the ON-OFF status of each point on the PLC side of
the circuits. Additionally, there is an LED that confirms status of
the fuses located at the top of the module. The IC697MDL350 module
is mechanically keyed to promote correct replacement with a similar
type in the field. The user is able to configure I/O references
without using jumpers or DIP switches.
The user must complete configuration by way of the configuration
function of the MS-DOS or Windows programming software running on
Windows 95 or Windows NT over Ethernet TCP/IP or through the SNP
port. The configuration function is on the programming device.
The IC697MDL350 is compatible with a number of load devices, including solenoids, motor starters, and indicators. The 0.5 amp rating applies to the long-term current capacity of each point. Due to heat dissipation within the module, the max current capacity for each group of outputs is limited at higher temps.
The GE Fanuc IC697MDL350 output module is a GE Series 90-70
discrete output module. It has 32 discrete output channels. It can
operate on AC power, but not on DC power. The nominal rated AC
voltage of the IC697MDL350 discrete output module is 120 Volts AC.
Each of the output points has a current rating of 0.5 Amps and all
of the outputs are arranged in 4 groups of 8.
The current rating for each group is 2 Amps. Each output point also
has an LED status indicator that shows whether an output point is
powered on or off. The IC697MDL350 discrete output module has fuses
for protection. It does not need jumpers or DIP switches to be
configured properly the way that many other GE I/O modules do. The
IC697MDL350 discrete output module can be configured with MS-DOS or
with the Windows Programming Software.
The GE Fanuc Series 90-70 IC697MDL350 discrete output module
operates with a frequency range of 47 to 63 Hertz. The outputs on
this discrete output module are suitable for a variety of
industrial inductive loads, and each of the 4 output groups is
protected by a fuse that is rated at 5 Amps.
The IC697MDL350 discrete output module can connect to motor starter
devices, indicators, and solenoids, and it is well-equipped to work
with these devices. This discrete output module can operate with an
AC power supply that supports multiple phases, and it can use a
different AC power supply phase for each of its 4 output groups.
