Mesh selections include: Balanced weave, appropriate for most conditions; Gratex for a closer mesh; and conventional weave for a straight clear opening.

The most frequently used is roller chain, employed for most room-to-medium temperature applications and pintle chain, recommended for heavier loads and higher temperatures.
