Has higher tensile strength and yield strength compared to hot
rolled

Better dimensional accuracy and tighter tolerances
Increased formability and weldability in some cases
Hot Rolled 304 Stainless Steel Sheet:
Produced by passing the sheet through rollers at elevated
temperatures (often over 1000°C)
The hot rolling process is faster and less expensive than cold
rolling
Typical thickness range is 1 mm to 6 mm
Has lower tensile and yield strength compared to cold rolled
Surface has a more uneven, mill-scale appearance
Looser dimensional tolerances and surface imperfections
Generally less formable than cold rolled sheets
