Stainless Steel Welded Tubes:
Made by forming a flat stainless steel sheet or strip into a
tubular shape and welding the seam
Common stainless steel grades used include 304, 316, 310, and 430
Have a smooth, uniform surface finish compared to seamless tubes
Offer good corrosion resistance, strength, and durability
Used in a wide range of applications like plumbing, industrial
piping, food/beverage equipment, automotive parts, and more
Advantages include cost-effectiveness, consistent quality, and
flexible sizing/dimensions
Welding process can be manual (SMAW), semi-automatic (GMAW), or
fully automated (GTAW)
Post-weld finishing like pickling, passivation, or polishing may be
done to enhance corrosion resistance and appearance
The manufacturing process typically involves:
Coil slitting to width
Tube forming by bending and welding the longitudinal seam
Optional heat treatment for stress relief
Cutting to length
Inspection and testing
Surface finishing (if required)
