Cylindrical roller bearings, single row: DIN 5412, part 1
Cylindrical roller bearings, double row: DIN 5412, part 4
Tolerances, bearing clearance
Bearing clearance is distinguished between radial and axial. Design
versions like NUP or NJ + HJ need also attention in axial next to
radial clearance. Tolerances are in accordance with ISO 492 and
clearance is in accordance with ISO 5753.
Cages
All the cylindrical roller bearings of the series NU10, NU18, NU19,
NU2, NU20, NU22, NU23, NU28 NU29, NU3, NU30, NU31, NU4, NU60,
NN30.., NN48, NNU48, NNU49 and NNU60 are preferably delivered with
machined brass cage.
The following machined cages are available:
The following types of machined cage guidance are offered for
cylindrical roller bearings:
Angular adjustment
The modified line contact between rollers and races of cylindrical
roller bearings avoids edge tension, and allows a slight adjustment
of the contact angle. The adjusted contact angle shall not exceed
four minutes with a load ratio
of single row cylindrical roller bearings (P = equivalent dynamic load [kN], C = dynamic capacity [kN]). The mounting positions of double row cylindrical roller bearings
shall be free of any misalignment.
Design versions of cylindrical roller bearings
There are not only the standard types NU and NJ
The following combination specifications are common:
for NU + HJ: NUJ
for NJ + HJ: NH
for WU + HJ: WU..W
The bearing versions NU or NNU are used as examples of technical
specifications such as load ratings and speed limits.
Cylindrical roller bearings are also available with a rough-ground
inner ring raceway. You can also order bearings without an
innerring (RNU) or without an outer ring (RN).
Equivalent dynamic load
The following applies to a cylindrical roller bearing with radial
load:
P = Fr [kN]
If the radial force is combined with an axial force Fa, it will be
considered in the bearing service life calculation, where Fa ≤ Fa zul admissible must be (Faadmissible = admissible axial force).
Maßreihe | Belastungsverhältnis | dynamische äquivalente Belastung |
18, 19, 10 10E, 2 | P=F1 | |
2E, 3, E3E, 4 | P=0,93*F1+0,69*Fa
29V, 22, 22E | P=F | |
23, 23E, 23 VH | P=0,93*F1+0,45*Fa
30V | P=F1 | |
P=0,93*F1+0,33*Fa | ||
50V | P=F1 | |
P=0,96*F1+0,5*Fa |
Admissible axial load
Cylindrical roller bearings of the series NUP, NJ, NJ with angular
rings (NH) and cageless bearings of the series NJ..VH, NCF..V and
NNF..V may accept axial forces, if they are also loaded in radial
direction. The maximum axial load admissible is
if
is ensured.
It depends on:
The theoretical axial load is determined calculating the heat
balance at the bearing positions, and may be estimated as follows:
Fa axial force [kN]
fb 0,0048 for cage bearings
0,0063 for cageless bearings
dm mean bearing diameter
n Inner ring speed [min-1]
v operating viscosity of the oil or the grease basic oil [mm2/s]
D outer bearing diameter [mm]
d bore diameter [mm]
The axial clearance capacity depends on the support at the
shoulders, and is limited by:
Fa zul zulässige Axialkraft [kN]
K 6,5 for single row cage bearings
5,5 for cageless single row bearings
3 for multiple row bearings
dm mean bearing diamet
B bearing width [mm]
The axial clearance capacity depends on the support at the
shoulders, and is limited by:
Shaft
Housing
dw support diameter for inner ring [mm]
Dg support diameter for outer ring [mm]
F envelope diameter of the inner ring [mm]
J edge diameter of the inner ring [mm]
E envelope diameter of the outer ring [mm]
H edge diameter of the outer ring [mm]
If the admissible axial load is exceeded, the support diameter has
to be larger.
Equivalent static load
The following applies to a cylindrical roller bearing with static
radial load:
P0 = Fr [kN]
