Silica fibers are fibers made of sodium silicate (water glass). They are used in heat protection (including asbestos substitution) and packings and compensators.


5. How high silica fiberglass cloth production process


The manufacturing process for high silica fiberglass cloth is used original borosilicate glass fiber base yarns are used as raw materials in the process. The manufacturing process comprises the steps of greige cloth weaving, acid leaching, water cleaning, heat treating, and surface treating. High silica glass fiber cloth prepared by the process, the content of silica is more than 96%. The high silica glass fiber cloth has a smooth appearance and uniform color and can be better applicable to various post-processing and manufacturing technology. In addition, the high silica glass fiber cloth has excellent high-temperature resistance and good ablation performance thus can be applied at the temperature below 1100 DEG C for a long period of time and be widely applied to manufacturing the heat protection elements of the precision instruments, the ablation materials, and the heat-insulating materials, etc.
