The screw type sludge dewatering machine depends on the volume
pressure dehydration, dispensing with drums and other large-sized
devices so as to realize a low operation speed, which is only 2-4
revolutions per minute. Therefore, the machine is able to realize
low energy consumption, low water consumption and low noise. The
average energy consumption is only 1/8 of the belt type machine,
the 1/20 of the centrifuge, with the unit energy consumption is
only 0.01-0.1 kwh/kg-DS, being able to reduce the system operation
cost of sewage treatment.

Dewater Principle
The initial section of dewatering drum is the Thickening Zone, where the solid-liquid separating process takes place and where the filtrate will also be discharged. The pitch of the screw and the gaps between the rings decrease at the end of dewatering drum, hence increasing its internal pressure. At the end, the End Plate further increases the pressure, so as to discharge dry sludge cake.

Application
The KOH-treated adsorbent had a smaller surface area (186 m2 g−1) than the ZnCl2-treated adsorbent (192 m2 g−1). However, the KOH-treated adsorbent provided more efficient removal of Cu(II). The performance of the KOH-treated adsorbent may be due to the presence of basic groups on the surface.
The Liu isotherm model provided the best description of the equilibrium data:The maximum adsorption capacities at 298 K for KOH-treated, ZnCl2-treated, and untreated sewage sludge were 31.85, 19.79, and 3.513 mg g−1, respectively. The highest desorption was obtained.
