How to Choose the Right Filtering Cloth?
Filtering soy milk: use a filter between 100-150 mesh/inch.
Filtering wine and tea impurities: use a filter between 150-200
mesh/inch; first, use a 100 mesh filter, then refilter with 200
mesh.
Filtering milk or juice: use a filter between 200-250 mesh/inch.
Paint filtering: for ground paint, use 80-100 mesh/inch; for
surface paint, use 150-200 mesh/inch.
Filtering drinking water and fine particulates: use a filter
between 300-400 mesh/inch.
Mesh refers to the number of holes per square inch on a screen. For
example, a 100 mesh screen has 100 holes per square inch (100×100),
and a 500 mesh screen has 500 holes per square inch (500×500). The
higher the mesh number, the more holes there are. This also means
that higher mesh numbers correspond to smaller particle sizes that
can pass through the screen.
