20CrNiMo steel was originally 8620 in American AISI and SAE
standards. The hardenability is similar to that of 20crni steel.
Although the Ni content of the steel is half of that of 20crni
steel, the upper part of the isothermal transformation curve of
austenite moves to the right due to the addition of a small amount
of Mo element, and the hardenability of the steel is still very
good due to the proper increase of Mn content, and the strength is
also higher than that of 20crni steel. It is often used to
manufacture the gears in the engine and transmission system of
small and medium-sized automobiles and tractors; it can also
replace 12crni3 steel to manufacture the carburizing parts and
cyaniding parts with high core performance, such as the claws and
cones of the roller bits used in oil drilling and metallurgical
open pit mining. 20CrNiMo is resistant to certain temperature due
to its molybdenum content, in addition to its good comprehensive
properties. The forging of connecting rod and valve section of gear
rotor internal combustion engine used for manufacturing steam
turbine.
Delivery status: hot rolled or forged steel shall be delivered in
hot-rolled (forged) or annealed state. Cold drawn steel
is delivered in annealed condition.
