Before first use

Put 1/4 cup of white rice into mortar, grind it into powder, check for stone debris. Repeat this process 1-3 times until the rice powder is free of stone debris. Handwash mortar pestle with warm water only, let it air dry, then it is ready to use.

Cleaning

Wipe away residue from grinding, rinse mortar pestle, handwash recommended in hot water only, with plastic brush and allow to dry. Dishwasher not allow to use.
