Unless specially agreed otherwise, insullation colours are in
accordance with BS 6004 specification as follows:
Single Core: Red, Black, Yellow, Blue, Green / Yellow
Two Core: Red and Black
Three Core: Red,Yellow and Blue
Four Core: Red, Yellow, Blue and Black
Five Core: Red, Yellow, Blue, Black and Green / Yellow
Electrical Building Wire Finish:
1.5mm pvc insulated electric cable , both sheathed and unsheathed
have a smooth finish and are countinously marked with by printing
or embosing on the external surface.
Where a PVC sheath is required on wiring cable, it is extruded
layer of PVC grade Type TM 1 or TM6, as applicable.
The PVC sheath colour of multi cable is grey, white or black and
for single core cables it is black, brown, grey, red or white.
The above wiring cables conform to BS 6004 specification of PVC
insulated cables (non-armoured) for electric power and lighting.
The Cables also generally satisfy the Inernational Specification
IEC 227 (6491 X only) and German standard VDE 0281 for "PVC
Insulated Cables and cords rated voltage not exceeding 750V".
