Forming turning tool is a special tool for processing the forming
surface of revolving body. Its edge shape is designed according to
the workpiece profile and can be used to process the forming
surface of internal and external revolving body on various lathes.
When parts are machined with formed turning tools, the surface of
parts can be formed at one time. It is easy to operate and has high
productivity. After processing, it can reach tolerance grade
IT8~IT10, roughness is 10~5 micron, and it can ensure high
interchangeability. However, the manufacture of forming turning
tools is complex, the cost is high, and the working length of the
blade is wide, so it is easy to cause vibration. Forming turning
tools are mainly used to process large batches of medium and small
size parts with formed surface.
