Our Inflatable Marine Airbags boast an innovative inflatable design that allows for effortless inflation and deflation, endowing them with remarkable versatility. They are ideally suited for ship launching, docking, and undocking, and can adapt to a wide range of marine applications while providing essential support. Key selling points: Able to bear heavy loads to safeguard ship safety. Simple to inflate and deflate for enhanced convenience. Constructed from high-strength materials for excellent puncture and wear resistance. Operate within a pressure range of 0.2 to 0.4 Mpa for guaranteed safety and stability. Their cylindrical shape provides optimal performance and can support vessels of various sizes. Opt for our airbags for superior quality, performance, and safety in marine operations. Upgrade with the top choice in the industry.
Uninflated cylindrical airbags are placed at the bottom of the vessel. Once inflated, they lift the ship, allowing for the removal of obstacles beneath. Subsequently, some of the airbags at the rear are deflated and the ship is pushed slightly. This is the process by which a ship is launched. Ship launching within the shipbuilding industry is a complex undertaking. Inland and coastal ships are launched either by rail sliding or air bag rolling. Rail sliding necessitates a slipway or dock and is only viable for large shipyards due to its high cost. Marine airbags are highly regarded by small and medium-sized shipyards as they entail low investment and have extensive applications. They are widely utilized for ship launching and docking in Asian and American countries. More than 80% of new ships with a deadweight of under 60,000 tons are launched using marine airbags. Launching with airbags is extremely flexible. Any flat area with a slight incline can serve as a slipway. Airbags can even launch a ship on a bank one or two meters above the water level.
Marine Airbags Material and Structure
Luhang marine airbag for ship launching has a designed structure
with five functional rubber membranes. It's made by patented whole
enlacing technology with no joints on the cylindrical body and
hemispherical heads.
- Outer and inner rubber layer: The outer layer protects underlying
layers from abrasion and external forces. It has sufficient tensile
and tearing strength.
- Synthetic-tire-cord layer for reinforcement: Reinforcement cord
layers made of synthetic-tire-cord are arranged at ideal angles to
hold internal pressure and distribute stress evenly for strong
reinforcement.
- End fittings: Include air tightness swivel and safety air inlet.
The airbag has a cylindrical body and two conical heads with metal
bushings and plugs for air inflation.

Size and Performance of our Marine Airbag
Ship launching airbags can be customized in various sizes and layers in accordance with ship size, weight, and launching or docking conditions. - Effective length: Ideally, it should be equal to the ship's breadth or one meter shorter. We can manufacture airbags with lengths ranging from 5 meters to 24 meters. - Diameter: Choose the diameter based on ship size and work requirements. Larger ships need larger airbags, while small boats can use smaller ones. For ship bottom cleaning or repair, bigger airbags allow workers to work more comfortably. Diameters of 1.5 meters, 1.8 meters, 2 meters, or 2.5 meters are suitable for large ships. - Number of layers: More layers mean greater bearing capacity. To lift a ship to a certain height, a sufficient number of airbags with enough layers are required. Generally, 6-layer airbags are sufficient for most projects. In some demanding situations, 7 to 8 layers may be needed for enhanced performance, such as when lifting heavy caissons with limited contact area, which requires higher pressure and more plies for safety. Proper selection of marine airbags is crucial for the success of marine projects. Gaining basic knowledge about airbag selection and consulting with manufacturers can help complete projects in the shortest time possible.
