Standard floating ball valve is a soft seal floating ball valve. Its design and manufacturing standards are API 600 and API 602. It is mainly used to cut off, distribute and change the flow direction of medium in the pipeline. American Standard soft seal floating ball valve mainly uses a sphere with a circular channel as the hoist. The hoist is a perforated sphere that rotates around the axis perpendicular to the channel, so as to achieve the purpose of opening and closing the channel.

1,The manual part can adopt steel plate pressed handle or stainless steel cast handle. The handle is provided with a limit structure, and the limit is set at the opening and closing positions of the valve. When the valve is used on key devices, the limit block is provided with a lock hole to lock the switch position to avoid mis-operation. There are obvious opening and closing marks on the handle.
2. The valve rod is integrally forged and modulated with a182f (1Cr13), and the hardness reaches hb220 ~ 250. The valve rod is connected with the handle through flat key or spline or square wedge, which has strong versatility and convenient disassembly. The valve rod is provided with an anti blow out structure.
3. The packing of the valve is braided, flexible graphite seal ring or tetrafluoroethylene seal ring, so that the valve rod can be reliably sealed under certain lubrication.
4. As required, the ball valve can be designed into an anti-static structure. Conductive springs are set between the ball and the valve rod, and between the valve rod and the valve body to avoid electrostatic ignition and ignition of flammable substances, so as to ensure the safety of the system.

Overview

The trunnion ball valve is a form of quarter-turn valve which uses a hollow, perforated and fixed/supported ball to control flow through it.

A trunnion mounted valve means that the ball is constrained by bearings and is only allowed to rotate, the majority of the hydraulic load to be supported by the System constraints, resulting in low bearing pressure and no shaft fatigue. The line pressure drives the upstream seat against the stationary ball so that the line pressure forces the upstream seat onto the ball to cause it to seal.

The mechanical anchoring of the ball absorbs the thrust from the line pressure, preventing excess friction between the ball and seats, so even at full rated working pressure operating torque remains low. This is particularly advantageous when the ball valve is actuated because it reduces the size of the actuator and hence the overall costs of the valve actuation package.

Trunnion ball design is the lower operating torque, ease of operation, minimized seat wear (Stem/ball isolation prevents side loading and wear of downstream seats improving performance and service life), superior sealing performance at both high and low pressure (a separate spring mechanism and upstream line pressure is used as the sealing against the stationary ball for low pressure and high pressure m applications).

The trunnion is available for all sizes and for all pressure classes but they are not suitable for throttling purposes.

Application

The trunnion ball valve is a kind of double-block-and-bleed(DDB) valve, while the floating ball valve only seal the downstream side.The trunnion ball valve can block both upstream and downstream media. And when the pressure in the middle cavity is greater than the seat spring force, the seat will be pushed open to release the pressure inside the chamber to ensure safety.
