Production Introduction


Because the water contains suspended and colloidal particles, so that the original colorless transparent water turbidity phenomenon, the degree of turbidity is called turbidity.

The unit of turbidity is expressed as "degree", which is equivalent to the degree of turbidity produced by 1L of water containing 1mg SiO2 (or mg aragonite, diatomite), which is 1 degree, or Jackson.Turbidity unit is JTU, 1JTU=1mg/L white clay suspension.

The turbidity shown by modern instruments is the unit of scattering turbidity NTU, also known as TU.1NTU= 1JTU.
Recently, it is considered internationally that the standard of turbidity prepared with ullotropin-hydrazine sulfate has good reproducibility and is chosen as the uniform standard of FTU.1 FTU = 1JTU.Turbidity is an optical effect, the extent to which light is blocked as it passes through the water layer, indicating the water layer's ability to scatter and absorb light.

Measuring principle


TSS turbidity/suspended matter concentration meter work principle as shown in figure 1-1, sensor transmitter to send the red outside light in transit after being measured the absorption and scattering of content, part of the scattering light to 135°direction of detector, part of the scattering light detector to 90°direction.The light intensity in the direction of 135°and 90°is related to the turbidity of the measured sewage to a certain extent, and the TURBidity of TSS is precisely based on this principle for measurement.

How is the NTU standard solution prepared?

Turbidity (NTU) standard solution preparation method

1. Preparation method of 20NTU standard liquid:

Take 50mL of 400NTU standard stock solution and inject it into the volumetric flask. Then take 950mL of pure water and inject it into the volumetric flask, shake and mix it well. The liquid is 20NTU standard liquid.

2. Preparation method of 10NTU standard liquid:

Inject 25mL of 400NTU standard stock solution into the volumetric flask, and then 975mL of pure water into the volumetric flask, shake and mix, and the liquid is 10NTU standard liquid.

3. The standard 10NTU and 20NTU liquid prepared should be used now and stored at room temperature. It will change the next day and cannot be used.

4. 400NTU standard solution cannot be stored at room temperature. Turbidity standard solution should be stored within 1-10 ℃ (stored in the refrigerator).
