1.2 Product Overview
This type of metering box is an outdoor metal-sealed box
encapsulating three-phase primary metering unit with epoxy resin
cast dry-type transformer pre-installed inside. The box is made of
stainless steel or low carbon steel with protective coating. The
surface is resistant to acid and alkali corrosion, pollution, and
UV. It is suitable for outdoor overhead line installation and
connection to public power systems. The metering box can be
equipped with a metering gauge box. All the secondary leads of the
transformer can be connected and collected in the meter box. It is
also equipped with a testing terminal block and a meter
installation space. The meter can be accessed and connected as per
user’s requirements and it is suitable for electric energy
measurement, current and voltage measurement in urban and rural
power distribution network lines with a maximum voltage of 17.5kV
and below.

2. Product Function and Use
Overhead pole mounted primary metering unit complies with the
latest applicable industrial standards and local and or national
electrical code (such as IEC, IEEE (ANSI), CAN, GOST, CEF). It is
used for three-phase overhead power grid energy measurement
management and distribution network automation management system,
the primary side measurement is more accurate, and the power loss
of the line can be effectively measured so as to reduce losses.
3. Product Features
1. The whole metering unit is designed with a metal box
encapsulated as a whole. Inside the box, there is a dry-type
transformer pre-installed and a meter box pre-equipped. It is with
high and low voltage integrated anti-theft design, can be installed
directly on the pole outdoors, which is convenient and time saving.
2. The metering unit can be equipped with a meter box as required
and connected with the transformer interface. The meter
installation space is reserved in the box, the alarm signal of the
meter box door switch sensor is reserved, and the door lock seal
structure is designed to prevent electricity theft.
3. The box is made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel or
equivalent performance low-carbon steel with protective coating.
The sealing design is weatherproof, acid and alkali corrosion
resistant, and UV resistant
4. The medium voltage transformer is insulated with epoxy resin
solid encapsulation and has excellent dielectric and mechanical
performance. It is oil-free, gas-free and maintenance-free, meeting
the requirements of safe operation and environmental protection.
5. The CT of the medium voltage combined transformer can be
configured according to double transformation ratios, and the VT is
equipped with anti-short circuit and overload protection devices as
required to avoid burning and explosion caused by VT short circuit
and overload.
6. The primary end is made of silicone rubber composite bushing,
and the terminal block of the corresponding area can be configured
according to the user's requirements, and the lightning arrester
can be optional.
