2. Descriptions:
Drywall screws have bugle heads, which are set a little below the surface of the drywall, with the holes filled with joint compound when the drywall is finished. Drywall screws for trim have a flat head that fits a Phillips head screwdriver or a flat head that fits a square driver.
The right fine thread drywall screw can be invaluable to both commercial contractors and construction professionals, as well as do-it-yourself homeowners who have a slew of projects to work on.
A fine thread drywall screw can be used to fasten several different materials, including plastic, fiberglass, metal and wood. When you find quality fine thread drywall screws, you enjoy countersinking perfection that helps prevent popping heads and torn paper.
3. Feasures and Advantages:
* Type ‘S’ point for fastening gypsum to light gauge steel
* Meets ASTM A 510 for carbon steel manufacturing
* Meets ASTM C 1002 for attaching gypsum board to steel studs
* bugle headed with a Phillips recess (No.2). They are twin-threaded with very sharp points.
* Special point for fastening drywall to metal up to 24 Ga. (fine
thread only)
* Phillips bugle head seats flush without crushing material or
tearing paper, simplifying filling and taping
* Black phosphate finish
* Excellent for fastening drywall to wood
4. Installation:
A standard screw gun with torque limiting nose piece set at a maximum of 3000 RPM drive speed recommended. Use a #2 reduced Phillips drive bit. The fastener is completely installed when the fastener head is seated flush with the work surface. Do not over torque as it can cause the head to snap or damage to the work surface.
