1. introduction

This manhole cover testing machine is to measure and determine permanent set in loading and load bearing capacity of various manhole cover and manhole tops made up cast iron, steel or aluminium alloys, steel reinforced materials, polypropylene(PP), polyethylene(PE) or unplsticized poly(vinyl chloride)(PVC-U).
The manhole cover compression testing machine adopts computerizing, high precision electro-hydraulic servo valve to drive precise hydraulic cylinder and then realize the auto control to the test force, displacement, and deformation, etc.


2. test sample and test procedures

Test sample: circle, rectangle and triangle manhole cover and manhole tops made up of different materials from Class A15 to F900.
Permanent set test: a test load shall be applied 5 times in succession on the same manhole cover or manhole tops for each class for all clear openings. Test software after 5 times loading see following:



Measuring device with resolution of 0.01mm and overall accuracy better than ±5%, and measuring range is 0-20mm. Measuring range can be made according to order. See following picture:

Loading bearing capacity test: The load bearing test should be carried out on the same sample immediately after the permanent set test at the same loading rate in permanent set test until target load is achieved and maintain for 30 seconds.
