Schizochytrium, also known as Chaetoceros, is a type of marine fungus belonging to the genus Eumycota, Oomycetes, Saprolegniales, Thraustochytriaceae, and is single-celled and spherical. Schizochytrium cells accumulate a large number of active substances that are useful to the human body, such as oils, pigments, squalene, etc., where oil accounts for more than 70% of the dry weight of cells, and the content of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in total lipids is very high. Achieves 35% to 40%, a similar structure of low levels of fatty acids, easy to separate and purify, and no fish smell.
