What is orbital welding?

Orbital welding, simply explained, is a way to join two objects together by moving the head around the stationary objects, often using only the melted edges of the two objects to create the bond.

Orbital welding is a specialized area of welding whereby the arc is rotated mechanically through 360° (180 degrees in double up welding) around a static workpiece, an object such as a pipe, in a continuous process.

Orbital welding is considered a reliable source of consistent quality welds.
