Testing Procedure

Step 1: Setup

• Connect the exhaust vent to the lab’s ventilation system.

• Power on the device.

• Close the inner door and fill the sand container.

Step 2: Sample Preparation

• Place the battery inside and attach the thermocouple.

• For externally powered tests, use the side test hole.

Step 3: Safety Locking

• Secure the explosion-proof door with the latch and chain.

Step 4: Mode Selection

• Auto Mode – Sand releases automatically if battery temperature exceeds the set limit.

• Manual Mode – Requires pressing the sand button for fire suppression.

Step 5: Short-Circuit Test

1. Connect battery terminals to the internal clamps.

2. Set the desired short-circuit time.

3. Press the Short Circuit button to begin.

4. The test stops automatically after the set duration.
