​Each output macrocell (OLMC) of an early programmable device has only one flip-flop,

and the macrocell of a CPLD usually contains two or more flip-flops, of which only one

flip-flop is connected to the output, and the rest of the flip-flops The output is not connected to the output,

but can be fed back to the array through the corresponding buffer circuit, which together with other

flip-flops constitute a more complex sequential circuit.
