A Force Sensor is a transducer that converts mechanical load into mV signal proportional to the applied force.The acting force causes deformation of the measuring element,the bonded strain gage deforms accordingly which will cause the resistance change of the wheatstone bridge,under constant power supply, the output signal between Sig+ and Sig- will change proportionally,thus the load/force can be measured by measuring the output signal from the transducer.
Load cell output: = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output of Jr s-beam load cell FSMY-500g is around 2.0mV/V.
Power supply of S type force sensor FSMY-500g is normally within
3-12V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the output range of S beam force transducer FSMY-500g is
normally within -24mV...+24mV for tension and compression force
measurement.
A load cell amplifier can be used to convert mV signal into -5-5V / 0-10V / 4-20mA for easy signal processing,taking FSMY-500g and FSC(-5-5V)-24V for example,the load-voltage relationship will be 0-500g compression load VS 0-5V output, 0-500g tension load VS 0-(-5V) output,which is linear regardless of the measurement error.
