The GE Fanuc Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
module with catalog number IC693ALG223 is a Sixteen (16) channels,
single ended, analog input module that is used to interface field
devices and instrument that provide analog signals as
representation to measurement of process variable.
The IC697ALG230 module converts inputs to digital form for the CPU
use or for other controllers accessing analog inputs through the
VME backplane. All converted data is presented as 2’s complement,
and the basic converter is at 14 bits resolution. An oversampling
and average technique can further enhance this resolution. All
inputs are protected against transient and steady state overvoltage
conditions. Percent AI references through the analog inputs are
utilized in the programmable controller, though a maximum of 8,000
words of memory is currently available. Each input channel is set
to use one word of %AI memory at 16 bits. Configuration is
completed through the use of the configuration function of the
MS-DOS or Windows software. Additionally, field wiring is made for
a removable terminal board. The module is mechanically keyed for
correct replacement. I/O references are user-configurable
eliminating the need for jumpers or DIP switches.
