Ultrasonic Echo Sounder Underwater Measurement Depth Echo Sounder Instrument For Underwater Mapping
Handheld acoustic depth sounder is a portable depth sounder for measuring water bodies such as reservoirs, lakes, rivers, and shallow seas. When measuring depth, the acoustic transducer is placed on the water surface or a certain spot. The fixed sound speed /C of the sound wave in the water and the time T from the sound wave emission to the reception are used to automatically convert the water depth H. This product is a convenient handheld acoustic distance meter developed by our company with many years of production experience and the advantages of many similar products. The acoustic wave transceiver conversion circuit adopts large-scale integrated circuits, the component patch rate is 99%, and the depth measurement results are displayed on LCD, which ensures the long-term reliability of the product and reduces its power consumption to the lowest. Optional signal output makes up for the shortcomings of traditional handheld products without output. It has the advantages of accurate measurement, low power consumption, high reliability, easy use, simple operation, accurate measurement speed, and easy to carry. The instrument can measure depth in still water or in water with a certain speed; the water flow speed can reach about 3m/second. It is an ideal water depth measurement instrument for hydrological testing, hydropower plants, reservoirs, lakes, river surveys and environmental water monitoring.

Working Principle
The working principle of the echo sounder is to measure the water depth by using the principle that ultrasonic waves propagate at a constant speed and have reflection characteristics in water.
The echo sounder emits sound waves in the water through a transducer. When the sound waves encounter obstacles (such as the seabed), they will be reflected back to the transducer. According to the time of the sound waves going back and forth and the speed of the sound waves in the measured water area, the distance between the obstacle and the transducer can be calculated to determine the water depth. The speed of sound waves in seawater varies with the temperature, salinity and pressure of the seawater, so correction is required in different environments. The echo sounder is usually set at the bottom of the ship and transmits ultrasonic waves with a frequency of 50kHz or 200kHz downward in an intermittent manner. After the sound waves reach the seabed, part of the energy is reflected back and received by the transducer. After amplification and processing, the time for the sound waves to propagate in the water is obtained. Combined with the draft of the ship, the water depth parameters of a certain measurement location can be calculated. This equipment is crucial in ship navigation. It can help find obstacles in the water and ensure the safe navigation of the ship. Especially when visibility is poor or the navigation instrument fails, the route can be identified by measuring the water depth.
