What is a pediatric urine bag?
You will be given a special bag to collect the urine. It will be a plastic bag with a sticky strip on one end, made to fit over your baby's genital area. Open this bag and place it on the infant. For males, place the entire penis in the bag and attach the adhesive to the skin.

How do you collect pediatric urine?
Clean the skin around the genital area, using gauze if available, otherwise with baby wipes, damp tissues or a clean, wet facewasher. When your child starts to wee, let some wee pass into the toilet. Collect a sample from halfway through the wee (midstream).

How many days can urine bag be used?
Leg bags and valves should be changed every 7 days. The bag can be attached to your right or left leg, depending on which side is most comfortable for you. At night, you'll need to attach a larger bag.
