Application of ntc temperature sensor
Medical applications: It is generally necessary to use ntc
temperature sensors in digital thermometers, culture (incubator)
boxes, skin sensors, urinary catheters, dialysis equipment, and
respirators to monitor temperature, blood flow, or airflow.
Appliance Applications: Generally use glass encapsulated wafers in
various packages to monitor and control ovens, microwave ovens,
washers and dryers, dishwashers and small appliances - toasters,
blenders, hair dryers, curling irons, showers , air conditioners,
stoves, refrigerators, freezers and temperature monitoring on
rechargeable NiCd and NiMH batteries, charging control for cordless
power tools and appliances, camcorders, portable CD players/radios.
Automotive applications generally use wafers, glass encapsulated
wafers or Uni-Curve™ products for temperature monitoring and
control of airflow and immersion applications. These devices are
commonly used as air intake sensors, battery, engine and
transmission temperature sensors, air conditioning and
interior/exterior ambient temperature sensors, and oil and gas
level sensors.
Office automation/data processing applications generally use ntc
temperature sensors for temperature monitoring and control of
strapping machines, overhead projectors, color printers, copiers,
central processing units (hosts), power supplies, and laptop
computers, personal organizers and Charge control for rechargeable
NiCad and NiMH batteries used in other battery powered portable
equipment.
Telecom applications typically use ntc temperature sensors for
temperature compensation or glass-encapsulated wafers for
temperature monitoring and control. Typical applications include
switchgear, and rechargeable NiCad and NiMH batteries on cordless
phones, radios, and pagers for charge control.
Military/Aerospace applications require the use of precision wafer
or glass bead assemblies to monitor the temperature of aircraft,
satellites, ground-based radars, manned orbiters, and deep space
sounding rockets.
