Motorcycle tyre production line manufacturing process and the
equipment required
Product Introduction:
The manufacturing process of motorcycle tires involves several
complex and precise steps:
1. Raw Material Preparation:
- Natural rubber and synthetic rubber are the main components.
Other materials like carbon black for reinforcement, various
chemicals for vulcanization and additives for specific properties
are also prepared.
2. Mixing:
- The rubber and additives are mixed in large mixers to form a
homogeneous compound. This process is controlled for temperature,
time, and speed to ensure the desired properties of the final
product.
3. Calendering:
- The mixed rubber compound is passed through calender machines to
form thin sheets of specific thickness and width.
4. Cord Fabric Preparation:
- Steel or textile cords are prepared for reinforcing the tire
structure.
5. Building the Tire:
- The tire components, including the rubber layers and cord fabric,
are assembled on a tire-building machine. This process involves
laying the components in a specific pattern and sequence.
6. Molding and Vulcanization:
- The assembled tire is placed in a mold and heated under pressure
in a vulcanization process. This transforms the rubber compound
into a durable and resilient material and gives the tire its final
shape and properties.
7. Finishing and Inspection:
- The vulcanized tire undergoes trimming, buffing, and painting to
achieve the final appearance. Quality inspection is carried out to
check for defects, proper dimensions, and performance parameters.
8. Testing:
- Tires are subjected to various tests, including strength,
durability, traction, and pressure resistance, to ensure they meet
safety and performance standards.
Each step in the manufacturing process requires strict quality
control and adherence to industry standards to produce high-quality
motorcycle tires that provide safety and performance on the road.

The following are the main equipment required for motorcycle tire manufacturing:
Equipment Name Equipment Function
1. Internal Mixer: Used to fully mix and knead natural rubber,
synthetic rubber and various additives to prepare rubber compound,
providing uniform rubber with satisfactory performance for
subsequent processes.
2. Calender: The rubber compound after internal mixing is pressed
into a rubber sheet with a certain thickness and width through
calendering, such as rubber parts such as inner liner and cord
layer used to manufacture tires.
3. Molding Machine: The semi-finished products prepared in the
previous process, such as rubber parts, steel cord, etc., are
assembled layer by layer on the molding machine according to design
requirements and process standards to form a tire blank. For bias
tires, they are molded in one step on a drum molding machine, while
radial tires are generally molded in two stages. The first stage
molds the tire body and affixes the sidewall rubber, and the second
stage affixes the steel belt layer and tread rubber.
4. Vulcanizer: Put the molded tire blank into the vulcanizer, heat,
pressurize and keep it for a certain period of time to make the
rubber undergo vulcanization reaction, so that the tire can obtain
the final shape, size and good physical and mechanical properties,
such as strength, elasticity, wear resistance, etc.
5. Wire bead winding machine: (if the tire contains wire bead) It
is used to wind the steel wire into a wire bead as a reinforcement
structure of the tire to enhance the strength and rigidity of the
tire, especially in the bead area of the tire.
6. Cutting machine: It is used to cut raw materials such as rubber film and cord according to the specified size and shape to meet the manufacturing needs of tires of different specifications.
7. Testing equipment: Including appearance inspection equipment (such as visual inspection system), size measurement equipment (such as calipers, laser measuring instruments, etc.), strength testing equipment (such as tensile testing machines), air tightness testing equipment, etc., used to perform quality inspection on semi-finished and finished tires in the manufacturing process to ensure that the quality of the tires meets the standard requirements.
