Sheet Metal Cutting Bending Stamping Parts Stamped Components
Product Description
Stamping is a general term that covers a wide range of metal forming capabilities and industrial uses.
Metal stamping produces parts ranging in diameter from 0.5 or less to very large aircraft, automotive and electrical parts.
Sometimes called metal pressing, it is classified as a cold forming or cold working process, which means it is usually done at room temperature. Find out more about how metal wire drawing works, applications and benefits.
The metal materials of stamping parts are as follows:
1. Ordinary steel and iron materials.
2. Copper, aluminum and other non-ferrous metal materials.
3. Corrosion-resistant (heat-resistant) metal materials.
Precautions for Metal Stamping
1. Reduced material waste: Deep drawing uses more base material
than other metal forming processes, thus significantly reducing
material waste.
2. Measurements are critical: It is not only important to ensure
that the dimensions of the mold are accurate, it is equally
important to consider the material thickness and the required
measurements. Incorrect measurements can result in thin walls and
inaccurate dimensions.
3. Draft and taper: Due to the basic manufacturing process of deep
drawing, some draft and taper at the top of the part is
unavoidable. This should be taken into account during the initial
design phase.
4. Different material thicknesses: Deep-drawn parts usually have
different thicknesses, with thinner walls and thicker bases. This
can be mitigated with tools after the drawing process is complete.
