Optical fiber attenuators are classified into the following four types according to the interface:

♦ SC fiber attenuator: applies to the SC fiber interface, which is similar to the RJ-45 interface, but the SC interface is flatter and the contact plate inside is a copper column.Fixed the attenuation power of the optical fiber attenuator is fixed, such as 1dB, 5dB, or 10dB. ♦ LC optical fiber attenuator: Applied to LC optical fiber interface, can be used to connect SFP module, adopts modular jack (RJ) latch mechanism, easy to operate, often used in routers;The connector optical fiber attenuator has the same appearance as the optical connector. The only difference is that the two ends of the connector optical fiber attenuator are male connector ports and female connector ports. The optical fiber attenuator either uses air gaps to achieve attenuation, or attenuates the optical fiber by mixing metal ions to achieve attenuation.

♦ FC fiber attenuator: Used for FC fiber interfaces. The outer layer is wrapped with a metal jacket and fastened by turnbuckle. Generally used in ODF side, mostly used for distribution frame;The attenuation power of the adjustable fiber attenuator is not static, but changes with the change of conditions. The change span is 0.5dB, 20dB, 50dB, etc., and some even reach the accuracy of 0.1dB and 0.01dB.
