Horizontal axis turbines are similar to propeller aircraft engines.
Horizontal axis turbines have blades similar to aircraft

The basic function of a charge controller (whether a solar charge
controller or a wind charge controller) is to prevent the battery
from being over or undercharged by disconnecting the current from
the battery when it is fully charged, and vice versa. It also
prevents the charge in the battery from flowing back into the
system once the battery is fully charged.
Wind turbines vary widely in size. Blade length is the biggest
factor in determining the amount of electricity a wind turbine can
generate. A small wind turbine that can power a single home might
have a generating capacity of 10 kilowatts (kW). The largest wind
turbines in operation are capable of generating up to kilowatts (10
megawatts), and larger turbines are being developed. Large turbines
are often grouped together to create a wind farm or wind farm that
feeds the grid.
