ULN2004A is a high-voltage, high-current darlington transistor array. The device contains seven darlington transistors with common emitters and clamp diodes for inductive loads. It is commonly used as a driver for high-power loads such as relays, motors, and lamps, in applications ranging from home appliances to industrial control systems. The ULN2004A is designed to operate with TTL and CMOS logic-level inputs and has an output current rating of 500mA per channel. The device also features input protection diodes, which guard against voltage spikes, preventing damage to the chip.
