Zinc Ash Metal Cadmium Ingots Pure Zinc Ingot 99.99% 99.995% Zinc Ingots
What are zinc ingots?
Zinc ingot refers to pure zinc. Of course, there will be impurities, but as a zinc ingot, it has a purity of at least 90%. Uses of zinc ingots: Mainly used in die-casting alloys, battery industry, printing and dyeing industry, pharmaceutical industry, rubber industry, chemical industry, etc. Zinc and other metal alloys are widely used in electroplating, spraying and other industries.
Main Applications
(i) Galvanizing
Zinc has excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion, so it is
mainly used for surface coating of steel and steel structures (such
as galvanized sheet), and is widely used in automobile,
construction, shipbuilding, light industry and other industries. In
recent years, Western countries have begun to try to use zinc alloy
sheets directly as roof covering materials. Its service life can be
as long as 120-140 years, and it can be recycled and reused, while
the service life of galvanized iron sheets as roofing materials is
generally 5-10 years.
(ii) Manufacture of copper alloy materials (such as brass)
Used in automobile manufacturing and machinery industries. Zinc has
applicable mechanical properties. The strength and hardness of zinc
itself are not high, but after adding alloy elements such as
aluminum and copper, its strength and hardness are greatly
improved, especially the emergence of zinc-copper-titanium alloy,
its comprehensive mechanical properties have approached or reached
the level of aluminum alloy, brass, and gray cast iron, and its
creep resistance has also been greatly improved. Therefore,
zinc-copper-titanium alloy has been widely used in the production
of small hardware.
(III) Used for casting zinc alloy
Mainly die castings, used in automobiles, light industry and other
industries. The processing performance of many zinc alloys is
relatively good, and the pass processing rate can reach 60%-80%.
The medium pressure performance is excellent, deep drawing can be
carried out, and it has self-lubrication, which prolongs the life
of the mold. It can be welded by brazing or resistance welding or
arc welding (need to be in helium), and the surface can be
electroplated and painted. The cutting performance is good. It has
excellent superplastic properties under certain conditions.
In addition, zinc has good resistance to electromagnetic fields.
The conductivity of zinc is 29% of that of standard electrical
copper. In the case of radio frequency interference, zinc plate is
a very effective shielding material. At the same time, because zinc
is non-magnetic, it is suitable for the material of instrument
parts, instrument housing and coins. At the same time, zinc itself
and collision with other metals will not produce sparks, which is
suitable for underground explosion-proof equipment.
(IV) Used to make zinc oxide, accounting for about 11%
Widely used in rubber, coating, enamel, medicine, printing, fiber
and other industries.
(V) Used to make dry batteries, in the form of zinc cakes and zinc
plates, accounting for about 13%.
Zinc has suitable chemical properties. Zinc can react with NH4CI to
release H+ positive ions. Zinc-manganese dioxide batteries use this
characteristic of zinc and use zinc alloy as the battery shell,
which is both a container for battery electrolytes and participates
in battery reactions to form the battery anode. This property is
also widely used in the pharmaceutical industry.
