Corrosion Resistant Monel 400 Nickel Alloy Round Bar 2.4360 Round Steel Copper Nickel Industrial Alloy Bar
Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy with excellent corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties. Its main components include nickel (about 63-70%), copper (about 28-34%), iron (about 2.5%), manganese (about 0.5%), and a small amount of carbon and other trace elements. These components make Monel 400 perform well in various corrosive environments, especially in media such as acids, alkalis, and salts.
Monel 400 alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in fluorine gas, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid and their derivatives. At the same time, it is more corrosion-resistant than copper-based alloys in seawater. Acid medium: Monel 400 is corrosion-resistant in sulfuric acid with a concentration of less than 85%. Monel 400 is one of the very few important materials that can resist hydrofluoric acid. Water corrosion: Monel 400 alloy not only has excellent corrosion resistance in most water corrosion conditions, but also rarely suffers from pitting corrosion and stress corrosion, and the corrosion rate is less than 0.025mm/a. High temperature corrosion: The highest temperature of Monel 400 in continuous operation in air is generally around 600℃, and the corrosion rate in high-temperature steam is less than 0.026mm/a. Ammonia: Due to the high nickel content of Monel 400 alloy, it can resist corrosion under anhydrous ammonia and ammoniation conditions below 585℃.
Product characteristics of Monel: Monel 400 is a corrosion-resistant alloy with large dosage, wide application and excellent comprehensive performance. This alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid and fluorine gas media, and also has excellent corrosion resistance to hot concentrated alkali solution. It is also resistant to corrosion by neutral solutions, water, seawater, atmosphere, organic compounds, etc. An important feature of this alloy is that it generally does not produce stress corrosion cracks and has good cutting performance. The structure of Monel 400 alloy is a high-strength single-phase solid solution.

Performance characteristics
High strength : Monel 400 exhibits excellent mechanical
properties at both room temperature and high temperature, with high
yield strength and tensile strength .
High corrosion resistance : The alloy performs well in various
corrosive environments, especially for media such as acids,
alkalis, and salts. For example, it can maintain corrosion
resistance in sulfuric acid with a concentration of less than 85%,
and is one of the few materials that can withstand hydrofluoric
acid corrosion .
Excellent thermal stability: Monel 400 can still maintain good
performance at high temperatures and is suitable for applications
in high temperature environments.
Good processing performance: The alloy can be processed by
various methods such as forging, casting, machining and welding.
