Factory Customized Polysulfone PSU Resin Psu Granules
Polysulfone (PSU) is a tough, rigid, high-strength thermoplastics suitable for continuous use up to 300°F (149°C). It is resistant to oxidation and hydrolysis and withstand prolonged exposure to high temperatures and repeated sterilization. Udel® P-1700 polysulfone is highly resistant to mineral acids, alkali and salt solutions. Resistance to detergents and hydrocarbon oils is good, but the resin may be attacked by polar solvents such as ketones, chlorinated hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons.
Performance characteristics
①Mechanical properties. The tensile strength and bending strength
of PSU are superior to those of general engineering plastics such
as POM, PA, and PC. Even at 150°C, the tensile strength can still
reach 60 MPa, while most general engineering plastics have lost
their use value at this time. This property of still maintaining
the mechanical properties it has at room temperature at high
temperatures is beyond the reach of general engineering plastics.
② Thermal properties. The Tg of PSU is 190°C, and the heat
distortion temperature is 175°C. It can be used for a long time at
-100 to 150°C. Moreover, PSU has good heat and oxygen aging
resistance. After 2 years of heat and oxygen aging at 150°C, the
tensile yield strength and heat distortion temperature do not
decrease but increase instead, and the impact strength can still
maintain 55% of the original value.
③ Electrical properties. PSU has good electrical insulation,
especially after being placed in a high-temperature environment and
in water and moist air, it can still maintain good electrical
insulation.
④ Chemical properties. PSU is relatively stable to common inorganic
acids, bases, salts, aliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohols and oils, but
it will be affected by strong solvents such as concentrated
sulfuric acid and nitric acid. Some polar solvents such as ketones,
halogenated hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons, and methyl formyl
will cause it to dissolve and swell.
