Primary filtration media generally refers to media used to filter larger particulate matter from air or liquids. These filter media are generally used in the initial filtration stage to remove visible impurities and large particles and protect subsequent filters or equipment from damage or clogging.
The following are several common primary filter media:
1. Particle filter: This filter uses fiber material or mesh structure to capture particles in the air or liquid, such as dust, sediment, hair, etc. Common particulate filters include air filters and water filters.
2. Pre-filter: A pre-filter is a rough filter media, usually made of washable or replaceable mesh or foam material. They are used to capture larger particles to relieve subsequent filters.
3. Filter paper: Filter paper is a film-like material made of cellulose or synthetic fibers. It has a fine pore structure that can filter out larger particles and suspended solids.
4. Filter: The filter is usually made of metal or plastic and has a mesh structure. They are used to filter solid particles in the air or liquid, such as leaves, insects, etc.
5. Activated carbon: Activated carbon is a porous material with a large specific surface area. It is often used to adsorb and remove chemical pollutants in gases or liquids, such as odors, organic compounds, etc.
These primary filter media can be selected and used based on specific filtration needs and applications. Different filters and equipment may use different types and combinations of media to achieve the desired filtration effect.
