ASTM A213/ASME SA213 T9 Alloy Steel Studded Fin Tube refers to a type of Heat Exchanger Tube. The tube has studs attached to its outer surface, and these studs are typically made of a different material than the tube itself. Studded fin tubes are used to improve the efficiency of heat transfer in applications such as boilers, heat exchangers and air coolers. Studded fin tubes have studs welded on the base metal tube. The studs are arranged in a regular formation throughout the surface of the base tube. Studded fin tubes are usually applied in boilers and oil refineries because they increase the surface area for higher heat transfer. Studded Fin Tubes are mostly used in boilers and furnaces.
