How It Works

  1. Structure:

    • A capacitive touch membrane typically consists of multiple layers, including:

      • Conductive Layer: This is usually a transparent conductive material like indium tin oxide (ITO).
      • Substrate: A non-conductive layer that provides support and insulation.
  2. Basic Principle:

    • Capacitive touch technology relies on the electrical charge that the human body naturally possesses. When a person touches the membrane, it changes the capacitance at that specific point.
  3. Signal Processing:

    • The detected changes are processed by a controller, which interprets the location and nature of the touch (e.g., single tap, swipe, multi-touch) and translates it into instructions for the device.
  4. Detection:

    • The system uses sensors to detect changes in capacitance. When a finger touches the screen, it creates a disturbance in the electric field, which is measured by the sensors.
