Description
This "All Dielectric Self-Supporting (ADSS)" cable is designed for short, medium and long distance aerial self-supporting applications. ADSS cable provides a fast and economical deployment method for cable TV operators, telephone companies and electric utilities. It is suitable for medium and short span conditions or complex terrain such as crossing rivers and mountains in power transmission systems. Description
The cable consists of 5 to 36 bundles of wires with tubes or
fillers, which are twisted together in up to 3 layers around a
central strength member and fixed with a PE outer sheath. Each tube
contains 6 to 12 fibers. All core fibers are filled with
water-blocking glue. The filler can be used to maintain the
geometry of the cable. The water-swellable tape is spirally wrapped
around the cable core. Aramid yarns are placed in a spiral manner
to provide peripheral reinforcement for the cable. The outer sheath
is tightly wrapped around the aramid yarn layer. The cable sheath
includes an optional inner polyethylene sheath and an outer
polyethylene or AT (anti-skid) sheath. When the induced voltage on
the cable surface exceeds 12KV, the AT outer sheath material will
be applied. With the AT outer sheath, the maximum electric field
strength at the working point can reach 35KV. For long-distance
applications, a double-layer sheath design can be considered. An
optional pull wire can be placed under the sheath layer to
facilitate its removal.
