430 stainless steel sheet is a ferritic stainless steel material
Chemical composition:
Carbon (C) content ≤0.12%, which helps to improve the hardness of
steel, but too high carbon content will reduce the toughness and
corrosion resistance of steel.
Silicon (Si) content ≤0.75%, which can enhance the oxidation
resistance and corrosion resistance of steel.
Manganese (Mn) content ≤1.00%, which can improve the strength and
hardenability of steel.
Phosphorus (P) content ≤0.040%, sulfur (S) content ≤0.030%,
phosphorus and sulfur are impurity elements in steel, the lower the
content, the better the quality of steel.
Nickel (Ni) content ≤0.60% (can be included), nickel can improve
the toughness and corrosion resistance of steel, but the content is
low in 430 stainless steel.
Chromium (Cr) content is 16.00 - 18.00%, which is the main element
of stainless steel with corrosion resistance. The higher the
chromium content, the better the corrosion resistance.
Good corrosion resistance:
It has good corrosion resistance in general atmosphere, water and
mildly corrosive media, and can resist corrosion in general
atmosphere and various media, but its corrosion resistance in
highly corrosive environments is not as good as some high-alloy
stainless steels.
Good thermal conductivity:
It is worse than austenitic stainless steel, and its thermal
expansion coefficient is smaller than that of austenite, which
makes its size change relatively small during heating and cooling,
and is suitable for some occasions that are sensitive to
temperature changes.
Excellent thermal fatigue resistance:
The addition of stabilizing element titanium improves the
mechanical properties of the weld and can withstand a certain
degree of thermal cycling and stress changes.
It has a certain magnetic property and is strongly magnetic at room
temperature.
Good processing performance:
Low work hardening rate, easy to bend and form, and can be made
into products of different shapes and sizes through a variety of
processing methods.
Poor weldability:
Appropriate process measures need to be taken during welding, and
appropriate heat treatment is required before and after welding to
ensure welding quality.
Relatively low cost:
No precious alloys such as nickel and molybdenum are added, which
has cost advantages compared with some other stainless steels.
Architectural decoration field:
It can be used to make curtain walls, roofs, balcony railings, etc.
of buildings, which are both beautiful and can meet certain
corrosion resistance and strength requirements.
Kitchen equipment:
Such as kitchen utensils, sinks, stoves, etc., because it has good
corrosion resistance and easy processing, and the cost is
relatively low.
Automotive industry:
It is used to manufacture some automotive parts, such as exhaust
pipes, decorative strips, etc. In the automotive industry, 410S
stainless steel sheets can meet certain strength and corrosion
resistance requirements, and have good forming properties, which is
convenient for manufacturing various complex shapes of parts.
Chemical equipment:
Because of its certain corrosion resistance, it can be used to
manufacture some parts in chemical equipment, such as pipes,
containers, etc.
