Product Description
Stainless steel bars can be divided into three types according to
the production process: hot rolling, forging and cold drawing.
The specifications of hot-rolled stainless steel round bars are
5.5-250mm. Among them: 5.5-25mm small stainless steel round bars
are mostly supplied in bundles of straight bars, often used as
steel bars, bolts and various mechanical parts; stainless steel
round bars larger than 25mm are mainly used to manufacture
mechanical parts or seamless steel billets.
Stainless steel bar specifications: hot-rolled and forged stainless steel bars with dimensions (diameter, side length, thickness or distance across edges) not exceeding 250mm above 1.0MM and below 250mm.
According to the composition, they can be divided into Cr series (400 series), Cr-Ni series (300 series), Cr-Mn-Ni series (200 series), heat-resistant chromium alloy steel (500 series), and precipitation hardening series (600 series).
Characteristics
304: General model; that is, 18/8 stainless steel. Products such
as: corrosion-resistant containers, tableware, furniture, railings,
medical equipment, etc. The standard composition is 18% chromium
and 8% nickel. It is a non-magnetic stainless steel. Its
metallographic structure cannot be changed by heat treatment. The
national standard grade is 06Cr19Ni10.
304L: The characteristics are the same as 304, but the carbon
content is low, so it is more corrosion-resistant and easy to heat
treat, but the mechanical properties are poor. It is suitable for
welding and products that are not easy to heat treat.
304 N: The characteristics are the same as 304. It is a
nitrogen-containing stainless steel. Nitrogen is added to increase
the strength of the steel. 309: The temperature resistance is
better than 304, up to 980℃.
309S: Contains a large amount of chromium and nickel, so it has
good heat resistance and oxidation resistance. Products such as:
heat exchangers, boiler components, jet engines, etc.
310: Excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance, with a
maximum operating temperature of 1200℃.
316: After 304, the second most widely used steel grade, mainly
used in the food industry, watch accessories, pharmaceutical
industry and surgical instruments. The addition of molybdenum can
obtain a special corrosion-resistant structure. Because its
chloride corrosion resistance is better than 304, it is also used
as "marine steel".
316L: Low carbon content, so it is more corrosion-resistant and
easy to heat treat. Products such as: chemical processing
equipment, nuclear power generators, refrigerant storage tanks.
321: Similar to 304, but due to the addition of titanium, the risk
of rusting on the material weld is reduced.
410: Martensitic (high-strength chromium steel), good wear
resistance, poor corrosion resistance.
430: Ferritic stainless steel, used for decoration, such as
automotive accessories. Good formability, but poor high temperature
resistance and corrosion resistance.
