Molybdenum Melting Glass Molybdenum Electrode
1. Description of Molybdenum Melting Glass Molybdenum Electrode:
The surface of the molybdenum melting glass electrode is metallic bright silver-white, and it will turn dark silver-white or uniform gray when placed in the air at room temperature. Among them, the molybdenum electrode with higher purity has better color and less surface change. Molybdenum electrodes can also be divided into: polished molybdenum electrodes, bright molybdenum electrodes, alkali washed molybdenum electrodes, buffing molybdenum electrodes and other types according to the processing method. After the molybdenum electrode is machined, the surface color is brown or dark brown, but this is not the color of molybdenum oxide, but the comprehensive color of various impurity oxides contained in the molybdenum electrode. The lighter the brown and the better the color uniformity of the surface, the higher the quality. Conversely, if the surface is black with different shades of color, the electrode is of poor quality. A good quality molybdenum electrode remains silver-white in color after several months of application in a glass melting furnace.

1). Generation of platinum wire drawing furnace
Glass fiber is an important building material and electrical
material, and the traditional production method of glass fiber is
to use Pt-7Rh alloy as a tong pot, and pass a large current, so
that the tong pot can reach a high temperature and melt the glass.
However, the tong pot of Pt-7Rh is expensive and cannot achieve
industrial mass production. According to the characteristics of
glass electrofusion and the excellent characteristics of molybdenum
electrodes, the use of molybdenum electrodes and natural refractory
materials as a substitute for platinum drawing furnace can not only
save the amount of platinum and rhodium, but also be more
economical. At present, molybdenum electrode instead of platinum
wire drawing furnace is a common method for producing glass fiber
in China.
2). GRC fiber
Glass fiber reinforced cement (GRC) composite material is a new
type of building material. Its reinforced glass fiber and cement
have good compatibility and corrosion resistance stability. The
fiber contains 10%~20% ZrO2, and its melting temperature Up to 1500
℃, can only be produced by electrofusion. By preparing a giant
molybdenum electrode, its effective conductive area is
2800~5000cm2, which can meet the production needs of GRC fibers,
and the price is reasonable.
3). Molybdenum electrode for aluminum silicate fiber electric melting furnace
Aluminum silicate fiber felt is a high-quality high-temperature
thermal insulation material. The melting temperature of its fibers
is as high as 1700~1800 °C, which can only be produced by
electrofusion.
4). Molybdenum electrodes for optical glass production
In glass products, the quality requirements for optical glass are
very high. The light transmittance and uniformity of optical glass
are important factors to examine its quality. The glass cannot be
polluted and colored, and the melting temperature is only allowed
to fluctuate ±2°C. Only by the all-electric melting method can
high-grade lenses be produced. In the all-electric melting furnace,
molybdenum electrodes are the key to the production of
high-performance glass. By preparing plate-shaped molybdenum
electrodes, the optical glass produced after special treatment is
of higher quality.
