Description
Oval gear flowmeter (also known as displacement flowmeter, gear
flowmeter) is a type of volumetric flowmeter, which is a type of
flow meter with higher accuracy. It uses mechanical measuring
elements to continuously divide the fluid into a single known
volume part, and measure the total flow volume based on the number
of times the metering chamber is filled and discharged with the
fluid in this volume part successively and repeatedly. Oval gear
flow meters can be made of different materials (cast iron, cast
steel, 304 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel) and are suitable
for flow measurement in industrial sectors such as chemical
industry, petroleum, medicine, electric power, metallurgy and food.
The flow meter is composed of a metering box and a pair of
elliptical gears installed in the metering box. It forms a sealed
crescent-shaped cavity with the upper and lower cover plates (it is
not relatively sealed due to the rotation of the gears) as the
calculation unit for primary displacement.
When the liquid to be measured enters the flow meter through the
pipeline, the pressure difference generated at the inlet and outlet
drives a pair of gears to rotate continuously, continuously
transporting the measured liquid through the crescent-shaped cavity
to the outlet. The number of revolutions of the elliptical gear is
related to each The product of four times the secondary
displacement is the total amount of liquid flow measured (see the
figure for the principle). The flow meter is mainly composed of a
housing, a counter, an elliptical gear and a coupling (magnetic
coupling and axial coupling).
