What is activated carbon?
A kind of porous amorphous carbon in powder or granular form with
strong adsorption capacity. It is obtained by carbonizing solid
carbonaceous materials (such as coal, wood, hard nut shells, fruit
cores, resins, etc.) at 600-900℃ in the absence of air, and then
oxidizing and activating them with air, carbon dioxide, water vapor
or a mixture of the three at 400-900℃.
Uses of activated carbon
Activated carbon is an adsorbent with a wide range of uses.
Activated carbon with small pore size can be used for gas
separation, recovery of solvent vapor, refrigerator deodorant, and
adsorbent in gas masks. Activated carbon with large pore size can
be used for decolorization to remove coloring substances in
solutions, such as decolorization of sugar, glucose, alcohol, oil,
medicine, water purification, etc.; it can also be used as a
catalyst.
Working principle:
After the wet material is put into the dryer from one end, the
material is evenly distributed and dispersed in the dryer under the
turning of the evenly distributed scrapers in the inner drum, and
is fully in contact with the co-current (countercurrent) hot air,
which accelerates the drying heat transfer and transmits the
driving force. During the drying process, the material can be
controlled to move to the star-shaped discharge valve in another
section of the dryer to discharge the finished product under the
action of the inclined scrapers and hot air flow.
Applicable materials:
◎ Drying of large particles and heavy materials in the chemical,
mining, metallurgical and other industries, such as: mining, blast
furnace slag, coal, metal powder, phosphate fertilizer, ammonium
sulfate.
◎ Drying of powdered and granular materials with special
requirements, such as: HP foaming agent, wine lees, light calcium
carbonate, activated clay, magnetic powder, graphite, and drug
residue.
◎ Materials that require low temperature drying and large-scale
continuous drying.
Performance characteristics:
◎ The rotary drum dryer has a high degree of mechanization and a
large production capacity.
◎ The resistance of the fluid passing through the cylinder is small
and the functional consumption is low.
◎ Strong adaptability to material characteristics.
◎ Stable operation, low operating costs, and good uniformity of
product drying.
